Hoorah it’s 1st December – my favourite season is finally here.
Christmas actually started in Brussels on 25th November and it was marked by the opening of the Christmas Markets. Ok so the markets are not as fancy as those in Vienna but I think I love them more. You can easily walk through the City centre, browsing the stands for affordable christmas gifts and decorations, picking up a Glühwein here’n’there and snacking on the divine treats on offer – like roasted hazelnuts, bratwurst or even a raclette sandwich. And Grand Place is transformed into a sparkly heaven with a nativity and light/music show every thirty minutes or so.
You check out my post from last year’s Christmas’ markets here.
I feel so lucky that I can just pop down to the market with friends any day or evening. It’s also the perfect place to come for a last-minute weekend break before Christmas – if you fancy.
